About Mrs. Higgins
The first things you should know about me are that I love being a science teacher and I want you to enjoy learning physical science this year. This is my twentieth year at Milton and my twenty-eighth year teaching science. I know that not all of you will love science or want to major in science in college, but I do hope that by the end of the year you will all know the importance of chemistry and physics in everyday life. I will do my best to make the learning relevant, interesting, challenging and fun.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Shorter College in Rome, GA and a Masters of Science in Biology from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. I hold an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.
I have two adult children who are both graduates of Milton. My son is a music professor at Rowan University in New Jersey. My daughter is a pharmacist in Atlanta. I have three wonderful grandchildren and I was able to spend most of the summer playing with them! When I am not teaching, I like to read (anything and everything), paint and garden. My husband and I usually do a lot of camping in the summer, however, this summer we stayed at home except for a short trip to St. Augustine, Florida. If you have not been to St. Augustine, I highly recommend that you visit. The beaches are amazing and the waves are great!
